Can I convert gravel yards to tons?
Yes, if you have a product-specific density. Multiply cubic yards by the supplier’s US short tons per cubic yard. The optional estimate here uses unrounded material volume, not the rounded bulk order. A short ton is 2,000 pounds; it is different from a metric tonne.
Why is the bulk order larger than the estimate?
The estimate is the volume your measurements require. The order quantity rounds that volume up to your supplier’s increment and minimum. You can change both under “Adjust order rounding & extra material.”
